During the 1950's and 1960's, Hartland Plastics created plastic statues of several baseball players including Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Ted Williams, Stan Musial and many more.  Below is pictured part of one side of the original mold (weighing approx. 250 pounds).  The entire mold weighed in excess of 1,200 pounds.  It is made of steel with a copper layer on top.  This piece is approx. 21.5" wide by 18.5" tall and approx 3" thick.  The level of detail in this mold is amazing.  More amazing is to think of all the thousands of plastic statues were made from this one historic mold 'once upon a time'.
